Orff Instruments Loan
The Orff instruments are an ensemble of xylophones, metallophones and glockenspiels which, together with recorders and non-pitched percussion, may accompany singing, dancing and stories. Beautiful sounding and easy to play, these barred instruments are ideal for rhythmic, melodic and harmonic explorations. Orff instruments are adaptable to a wide range of music expressions including improvisation, the musics of various world cultures and jazz.
A collection of Orff instruments is known as an Instrumentarium.
What's in the Instrumentarium?

Borrowing the Instrumentarium
The Instrumentarium is available for a six- to eight-week loan to NCAOSA members who have completed Level 1 training or have comparable experience (as determined by the NCAOSA Board).
In borrowing the Instrumentarium you assume full responsibility for the safety and condition of the instruments and are liable for any repair or replacement needed due to damage beyond normal use. The instruments must be safely stored and returned on time to the site agreed upon in the contract.
Your application will be reviewed by the NCAOSA Board and you will be contacted to arrange the loan dates and sign an official contract. Loan will be made on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified applicants; exceptions are made at the Board's discretion. The NCAOSA Board reserves the right to evaluate the safety of the conditions of the loan before agreeing to the loan.
We ask for a $200 deposit in the form of a check payable to NCAOSA to be held until the instruments are returned and their condition evaluated. There is a $50 usage fee to cover the cost of repair for normal wear and tear.

Upon return of the instruments, you are required to write a short article for PlayNotes on your experience. You may include quotations from students, teachers or any others you worked with.
