How Do I Join NCAOSA?Are you a classroom teacher, music specialist, early childhood teacher, music therapist, dance educator, teacher aide, parent, or student and would like to join us? If so, please print this form, attach a check and mail it to NCAOSA
Benefits of NCAOSA MembershipWorkshops and Newsletter: NCAOSA offers three workshops and three newsletters per school year, all of which are covered by your membership fee. Every other year, in lieu of the spring workshop, we present a three-day Mini-Conference at which local and nationally known clinicians offer workshops on all aspects of Orff Schulwerk. Instrumentarium: NCAOSA’s instrumentarium has 10 barred instruments: bass xylophone, bass metallophone, 2 each alto and soprano xylophones, and 1 each alto and soprano metallophones and glockenspiels. It is available for loan to NCAOSA members who have completed Level I training or have comparable experience and will use them with the Orff process. The instrumentarium loan form can be printed from our website. Audio/Visual Library: Borrowing information and the list of audio- and videotapes are on our website. Audiotapes from some past workshops are available for purchase to members only. All tapes are also available on loan from the library. Scholarship to AOSA National Conference: Each year NCAOSA offers its members one scholarship to the AOSA National Conference, which usually occurs during the second week in November. The scholarship is for the cost of registration (currently $200) plus an additional $100 towards transportation, hotel and any other expenses. To attend the conference you must be a member of AOSA; this is a separate cost. The scholarship application form will be available on the website in Spring 2006. Scholarship Qualifications: Outreach Scholarship: This scholarship allows you to invite a guest to attend one full-day chapter workshop free of charge. View the form. Chapter Grants: This grant is intended to foster local collaboration within the NCAOSA and covers the clinician’s fee, not including travel, as the NCAOSA budget permits. The local chapter would provide a space and cover smaller costs such as postage and printing. The NCAOSA mailing list is an available resource, within the constraints of our nonprofit status and member privacy policy. Applicants must be current members. In the spirit of this grant, groups awarded are asked to share their experience in the Orffion. Send new proposals to chapter president Gina Graziano, president@ncaosa.org, 3133 Elmquist Ct., Martinez, CA 94553. Application period is open, with long lead times encouraged. Website: Our website, www.ncaosa.org, provides a continuous link to the Northern California Orff community. It features job listings, workshop descriptions, and a bulletin board, as well as forms for scholarships, membership renewal and instrumentarium loan. The website is open to the public.
