Opening Session

The opening session is going to be spectacular! We are in the process of finding children's dance groups from the Bay Area to represent the rich cultural diversity of the South Bay. We will see short (2 minute) performances by local groups representing Vietnamese, Mexican, South Indian, Chinese and African-American heritage, followed by a longer collaboration between students from two schools, Orff-Schulwerk style:

Here's how we described it in the Call to Conference:

GIRLS AND BOYS COME OUT TO PLAY

Children representing the rich diversity of the SF Bay Area will join their playfellows in a musical adventure. Beautiful interludes interwoven through the Opening Session festivities culminate in "Playground Nocturne",
a collaboration between the Synergy School (SF) and the John Muir Elementary School. (Martinez).
